DAY 12 - October 12, 2023

All photos can be clicked on for a larger version.

We spent another day here at Green Turtle Bay so that we'll be here during the local city's Hunter's Moon Festival which is tomorrow. Lots of fall decoration are evident around town as seen in the photos above and below.

The city here is called Grand Rivers and reminds me a lot of Amity Island in the movie Jaws because their economy appears highly dependent on tourism.

This must be Trump country. The Trump-bear was on the front of a golf cart in town and a boat completely covered with Trump graphics is in the marina.

This is one of the huge boats that came in off Lake Barkley to get fueled up.

I visited one of the local attractions called Pattie's 1880's Settlement and saw a real Crosley car. These were built in Richmond, Indiana, but much of the design and promotion was done in Cincinnati, the home of Powel Crosley Jr. Did you know Powel was the first to come up with the term "sports utility" vehicle.

Last week I posted a video clip showing the landscape and changing color of the trees along the river. The leaves are slowing changing and have a long way to go until we see the beautiful fall colors. This photo of empty coal cars that seem to have no end, reveal a little bit of the changes in the leaves.
