Yesterday we arrived at Green Turtle Bay Resort & Marina, which is considered a pretty significant stop for people traveling America's Great Loop. We originally planned on staying for two days, but the town here (Grand Rivers, Kentucky) has a parade and festival called "Hunter's Moon". Since traveling on the loop is about meeting people and their culture, we've decided to stay here five days so we can attend the festivities this Saturday.
The marina here is huge and has everything a cruiser could want including a swimming pool, spa & health club, ship's store, yacht sales, two restaurants, laundry center and private bathrooms that look like those in a home.
This morning we got out our electric folding bikes and trailer and headed into town to the Village Market & Cafe. It's much smaller than a Kroger store, but it had just about everything we needed.
The little town of Grand Rivers, Kentucky has been designated "The Most Beautiful Small Town in Kentucky" and it really is.
We ate at the marina restaurant this evening and this was the view of sailboats right outside our window.
