It'e been ten days since beginning our journey, but this is
Day #1 of actually traveling America's Great Loop!
So far I've been posting photos of our daily activities. Today I have just one photo, to mark the beginning of our quest to complete America's Great Loop. We spent last night on the Transient Boat Dock at Paducah Kentucky. This morning we turned our boat around so we were in the correct direction to begin traveling America's Great Loop. The flag we're holding is called a burgee and it has a map of the loop and the letters AGLCA (America's Great Loop Cruisers Association). Four other "looper" boats arrived right around dusk yesterday evening and all were displaying the burgee. This morning one of the loopers took this photos of us. After leaving Paducah we travelled 12 miles back up the Ohio River to the Cumberland River. We travelled south and eventually arrived at Green Turtle Bay Marina on Lake Barkley for a total milage of 40 miles today. We'll be spending at least a couple of days here, but maybe more because of a parade and harvest festival taking place in the nearby town. I'll be uploading multiple photos everyday as I document our adventure and provide an opportunity for family and friends to follow our progress.
