For those who have followed my blogs during past adventures, yesterday’s entry with only two photos and a couple of sentences must have seemed terribly brief. The reason is that we’re going to try making daily updates brief and concentrate more on a weekly video. The videos will begin once we’re actually on America’s Great Loop. For now, we’re traveling to the Cumberland River as our loop starting point.
Yesterday we traveled 54.5 miles. After a good night’s sleep we started this morning from out anchorage three miles past Madison, Indiana. We were headed for Louisville, Kentucky.
A boating friend I’d met several time and who traveled to Aurora to help me get my boat ready, came out on his boat and took a bunch of photos as we were underway.
We were able to dock at the Louisville public dock. Electric and water hook-up were available, so we ran the boat AC a little while, then started exploring.
I took this photo of our boat while walking across the Louisville to Jefferson , Indiana pedestrian bridge.
Later we met up with William Knight and his wife, who are the couple taking photos of us on the river. They took us for dinner at a nice, laidback restaurant and then came back to the boat to see what alterations I’ve made to it.
